NotePage, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of RecordForAll. RecordForAll is an easy to use commercial podcasting solution. RecordForAll allows for publishers to record audio files, edit sound files, and add effects. RecordForAll can be used by podcasters or other types of audio producers to overlay tracks, create fades, and add background music or effects to their audio productions.
The RecordForAll software gives the user the ability to record, store and import all types of audio recordings. Recordings can be easily labeled and organized. While RecordForAll has a lot of functionality it is still very easy for beginners to use. Simply drag and drop audio clips, to create a podcast show sequence. Edit clips by simply highlighting or overlaying segments. Audio clips can be individually managed allowing podcasters to make each clip shorter, longer, softer or louder.

My favorite among the many alternatives to Google these days is semantic search engine Duck Duck Go. And this great little search engine just got better — it now offers quick and useful previews of the sites in the search results, so you don’t have to click through to know if you’ve found what you are looking for.
This is how they do it:

Go out and grab the current version of the page.
Turn it into paragraphs of text.
Look for the most relevant paragraphs given the search terms.
Highlight those paragraphs in the preview window.

Similar features are available: On Ask, Ujiko, Nexplore and Viewzi, you get a thumbnail preview of the page in question. The Firefox addon Google Preview adds thumbnail previews to Google search results.
Duck Duck Go’s text based previews is an early release and currently works best for informational queries and on informational sites. Based on my test searches, [...]

Google’s Matt Cutts has announced that W3C Validation and clean coding does not factor into search engine rankings. There are other benefits to having a validated website, but there is nothing in Google’s algorithm that will increase search engine rankings.
By guest writer Brandon Leibowitz
There have been many arguments as to whether or not Google search engine ranking factors look for a clean code in a website.

The W3C Schools have brought forth a very popular and widely used tool, called the W3C Validation and the CSS Validation.
Basically, both these tools look at your HTML and CSS Style Sheet that code your website for any errors that may arise. This free tool will scan all of your code to make sure it is compliant with current web standards and free or any errors.
Recently Matt Cutts, Google software engineer, has said again that the W3C Validation does not affect search engine [...]

It is time for the Pandia Search Engine News Weekend Wrap-up again, and this time we have decided to open the show with a search engine rap. No, serioulsy…

Google has made a few interesting tweaks to its web search offering and adds “deep links” directly to subsections of result pages.
Snippets with direct links to relevant content.
Google (NSDQ:GOOG) has always added a short “snippet” containing information on what the relevant web page is about. This text is normally extracted from the page itself. Google “snips” out a paragraph that seems relevant to your query. Alternatively they make use of the Description tag found on the page or a description found in the Open Directory.
Now Google may add “deep” links to relevant sections on the page, making it possible to go directly to the information you are looking for.
The Google Blog gives the query “trans fat” as an example.
One of the results is from the Wikipedia. Google will now add links to sections of the Wikipedia page, sections on sub topics like Chemistry and Nutritional Guidelines.
These links [...]

This week Google launched Sidewiki, a browser sidebar that lets you contribute and read information alongside any web page. This tool has some interesting uses. It also has some serious implications that have web masters worried.
Sidewiki merits
If it succeeds, Google Sidewiki could be a useful tool to add perspective to any web site, a channel for independent commentaries on any content, commentaries that cannot be deleted by e.g. a blog editor.
Annotating the Web adds a dimension to web surfing that has already proven useful in research and teaching — collaborative browsing. There are many tools available that enable you to comment on or annotate web pages.
So what Google Sidewiki does is not new.
You have to have Google Toolbar installed to use the Sidewiki. Still, none of the existing competitors to Google Sidewiki have a pre-established user base anywhere in the vicinity of the Google Toolbar’s. Sidewiki is the [...]
